I had a blast. My husband, Lars, and dad also participated in the race. Lars was going to "run" the whole race with me. After the first mile, I finally convinced him to take off. (He was much happier running faster.) I only know my first split--11:19. I didn't want to run that slow, so I picked up the pace. I did have another side ache during the first mile, but I "ran" through it. I was very happy that I could run the whole race especially being so sick the week before.
That afternoon, I played basketball and soccer with the family. (My brothers and their families were in town, too). I over did it a bit. Lars reminded me that we didn't want to have the baby that afternoon, so I sat down and took it easy the rest of the day and weekend.

I'm signing off for a while.
My husband and I are pleased to announce that our family of 3 will become a family of 5 this spring. Our ultrasound yesterday (December 8th) revealed not one, but two healthy, identical twin boys. I plan on continuing to exercise (water aerobics?), but this race was my last run for this pregnancy. I hope to deliver the babies as close to their due date (April 12th) as possible. |
