I wasn't planning on running 8. How it happened...

About 5:20 am, Will woke up. After forty minutes of quality crib play, I went to get Will. Will and I went about our morning as usual. Will ate three quarters of an orange and a handful of Special K. I ate my bowl of Special K. The weather channel informed us it was 41 degrees with not much wind. (Thank goodness! We had plenty of wind yesterday.) I helped Will put on his sweats and jacket over his pajamas. After we velcroed Will's shoes and said good-bye to Dad, we were off to run 6 miles

And then during mile 3, Will feel asleep. We had a busy day ahead of us and I decided 1) this would be Will's morning nap and 2) a three mile morning nap would be too short. So I kept running. Adding another half mile, after another. Will woke up happy at the beginning of mile 7. And the rest day went well enough.

The extended run was refreshing. I was able to think. By the end of the run, I made sense of where I stood on some family matters. It felt good to be able to sort things out in my mind. I feel much better.

Goodness you are like the energizer bunny, you keep going and going.... and going! Don't you just love the thinking time that comes with running. I usually figure out what's for dinner that night, plan my day and sometime the big things like problems. It's great! But you must be just getting in great shape. I've done longer runs back to back this week and my legs have noticed for sure. Usually I try and break them up a little better, but I think that you do them everyday!!! If I can't keep up with a mom and a babystroller thats loaded to boot, I guess I need to push some more!!!

Great job on running 8! I know what you mean about figuring out stuff on the run. I've come up with some great solutions for some of my cases at work, or just forgotten about a yucky day on a run!

Oh, Michelle, we were gone for at least an hour and forty minutes. Seriously, I couldn't have been going faster than 12 minute miles. I was taking my sweet time out there.

You need to give yourself more credit. Repeat after me, "I am a great runner..."

Thank you, I just said it three times.... your the best motivator. I'm going to try it again in the morning!

I know what you mean about the blog being a little bit addicting! Opps... did I just say that. They say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem and I'm not sure I'm ready to be cured!

The Canyonlands Half is on March 8th (Sat.) We would all die happy if you could come! And we could finally have that bookclub night about the Twilight series. BTW, I'm mad at Bella for what she did to/with Jacob at the end of Eclipse. A little restraint goes a long way!

Impressive! Don't you love when miles just fly by like that? I wouldn't mind if that happened more often for me! Painter's 1/2 is in January, put on by the city of St. George. I've only ever done the 5k that day, but I hear the 1/2 is good and mostly on paved trails. That would be great if it worked out that you'll be in town then!
