I was nervous about my trail mile run.  I new it would be tough and it was.  I tried to focus on my legs and tell them they could go faster.  By the middle of the first quarter, I was rememinding myself that I only had to do four laps.  Only four.

6:56!  I broke seven minutes!  My fastest time I remember in college was 7:12.  And before that 6:18 in seventh grade.  But, still under seven.  I am pleased.  I really don't like running in that much pain.

And I met Katie.  She was doing speed workouts.  She's run a couple halfs and a marathon (3:40ish!).  I hope we will be able to run on Saturdays.  We'll see.  Next Saturday is my ten mile race.  So maybe the week after that.

WOW!!! That is really awesome!!! You are fast, I don't think that I am capable of that kinda speed! I'm not sure if I could do anything sub 8, but sub 7 you are a speedster for sure!!!! Ten mile race next Sat.? Good luck!! I didn't know that you were doing that!

Awesome!!! That has to be a huge confidence builder. Your fitness has definitely been progressing-your times are impressive. Good luck on your 10-miler!

You are seriously fast, Adrianne! You HAVE to run a 5K sometime soon. I am so impressed!

Given a choice, I'd rather race a marathon than a true all out mile any day. An all out mile hurts. How fast can Katie run the mile? If 6:40 is easy for her, have her pace you next time, you'll probably go 10 seconds faster just from her pacing with no increase in fitness. Also, first time you try the mile, you run it like a 5 K, it takes some practice to get used to the mile-specific pain. With a little bit of work, you can break your 7th grade record.
