I felt so free this morning when I started my run.  My shoes felt great.  I was stroller-free.  I was happy starting my run.  The morning still felt cool, although it was 9 o'clock.  After about a mile, I turned off the wooded trail and felt the sun.  I made my way toward the track slowly.  I wanted to get in some 8 minute miles.  Here are my quarters:

2:10  (You would think after a two mile warm-up I could have gone faster on my first quarter.)

1:52  (Another runner had just past me and I think (sub-consciously) was trying to keep up with him.)

Fatigue started to set in during the last half mile.  I was super tired, but I jogged the mile and a half home.  I feel good and tired.  Running is calming,  rewarding, and different everyday.  Today's run was dedicated to my shoes.  (Dedication inspired by Lybi.)

You sound more like yourself today. I'm super happy. Did you get my phone message. I was so surprised to get the fabric from you. It was very generous of you to send me so much fabric and I am so thankful. I've decided to make my quilt have a little story in it. The center is going to be part of my wedding dress (where this story began..the story of my adulthood and marriage... I'm going to have my childhood...Sasha's childhood and our children's memories in different sections. I will have lots of fun dispersing your awesome pieces of fabric throughout the quilt to fill in the empty spaces with friendship and fun....which is exactly what you have done for my life.

You are way too kind, I am not that fast (and it has been more like almost 4 years). Good genetics and a competitive spirit is probably to blame!

I have never run a marathon!!

What department are you in at Iowa? we have some friends there!
